Wellbutrin in the US
The international (INN) name. Pharmacists everywhere recognize it, even when the local brand differs (e.g. Wellbutrin, Elontril, Wellbutrin XR).
Sold in the UK mainly as a stop-smoking aid, not as an antidepressant. A pharmacist may not recognize "Wellbutrin". Ask for Zyban, and say you take it for depression if that is why.
Classed as a controlled psychotropic in Mexico. If you bring your own, keep it in the original labeled bottle and be ready to show it. Officially it should be declared at customs.
Not approved for any use by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. It cannot be prescribed or dispensed in Japan. For smoking cessation, Japan uses varenicline (Champix) and nicotine replacement instead of Zyban.
