Antiemetic patch (motion sickness) · ATC A04AD01
Scopolamine (motion-sickness patch)
Transderm Scop in the US
The international (INN) name. Pharmacists everywhere recognize it, even when the local brand differs (e.g. Transderm Scop, Scopoderm TTS).
Sold for: nausea and motion sickness.
Both are pharmacy medicines: ask the pharmacist, no prescription needed. Called hyoscine hydrobromide in the UK.
No scopolamine patch is currently marketed in Canada (Transderm-V is no longer listed). Bring patches from home.
The hyoscine tablets sold here (butilhioscina) are for stomach cramps, not motion sickness.
Scopolamine patches are not sold in Japan, so bring what you need from home. The nearest prescription product is Buscopan (ブスコパン, butylscopolamine). Over the counter, some products in the Travelmin (トラベルミン) motion-sickness range include scopolamine as one of several ingredients.
The register lists only hyoscine butylbromide (Buscopan), a different medicine for stomach cramps. Bring patches from home.
The scopolamine sold here is butylscopolamine (Buscopan) for stomach cramps, not a motion-sickness patch.
The register has scopolamine only as a prescription injection, not a motion-sickness patch.
